plantwise ("the App") provides plant data enrichment, shopping assistance, and catalog management tools ("the Service") to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:

• Product data (titles, descriptions, tags, metafields, images) to match your catalog with our plant database and enrich product information
• Online store page data to install and manage the plantwise Shopping Assistant on your storefront
• Publication data to read and manage where products and pages are published across your sales channels

Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information once you have installed the App:

• Information about you and others who may access the App on behalf of your store, such as your name, email address, and billing information
• Information about individuals who visit your store and interact with the plantwise Shopping Assistant, such as their responses to plant-matching questions (light conditions, pet ownership, growing zone). These responses are not linked to personally identifiable information and are used solely to provide plant recommendations during the session.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information to:

• Communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests
• Optimize and improve the App and the accuracy of plant data
• Match your product catalog to our plant database
• Generate zone-aware collections and planting recommendations

We do not use personal information for behavioral advertising or targeted marketing.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, such as hosting and infrastructure providers, but only to the extent necessary to provide the Service.

We may also share your personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Your Rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us using the information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident, we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you, or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to the United States.

Data Retention

When you install the App, we maintain your account and store information for as long as you have the App installed. When you uninstall the App, we retain your information for up to 30 days in case you choose to reinstall, after which it is deleted. You may request immediate deletion at any time by contacting us.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
